Jack Velker

Solo pianist Jack Velker is an entertainer extraordinaire, and a mainstay of our local scene. For over 30 years he has been performing his range of swing standards and blues on three continents.
"He was often referred to as 'The Maestro' as he was an ace Hammond B-3, piano, and accordion player. We met at the Cellar in Vancouver around '73 and played together many times over the next 40 years, sometimes as the Double Jack Orchestra. Jack had a rich history of playing/recording with some of the greats including an album with Charlie Musselwhite and Barry Goldberg called the Ivar Avenue Reunion." Jack Lavin
